News conference of Head of Sudanese
delegation to Arab Aummit

Mr. Mustapha Othman Ismail,Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs
and Head of delegation to the 16th session of the Arab Summit,
said that the Tunis summit was a success right from the opening
session, underlining that President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali
has, in his speech, clearly mapped out the summit's orientations.
Mr. Ismail, who held a news conference, Saturday, underlined
that thanks its experience, Tunisia is in a position to lead
the Arab joint action in this delicate stage. He expressed
the hope to see the Tunis Summit manage as better as possible
to meet the aspirations of the Arab peoples.
The Sudanese Foreign minister also evoked the peace talks
held in Naivasha, Kenya between the Sudanese government and
the popular movement of the South of Sudan and which reached
their final stage.
He announced that a peace agreement between the two parties
will be signed late this week.
Addressing the situation in Darfour, Mr. Ismail said that
the Sudanese government decided to take a set of measures,
namely dispatching humanitarian aid to this region and attenuating
the repercussions of military confrontations with the rebel
groups andfacilitate the return of citizens to their homes.
He finally added that the Sudanese government also decided
to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to Darfour so
that the refugees could return home.
